It’s been a long 9 months since COVID-19 made its way into our lives. There are days I look forward to the moment my head hits the pillow. That’s why I want to share Telitha’s story with you.

Telitha has sleep apnea: every night, several times a night, she stops breathing. But without insurance or regular medical care, Telitha didn’t know about her life-threatening condition - until she became a patient at the Community Health Care Clinic in June.

For the first time in years, Telitha was able to talk to someone about her depression. Reviewing her nightly routine, CHCC’s volunteer psychiatrist suggested she undergo a sleep study. The results revealed Telitha has such a severe case of sleep apnea, if left untreated, it could someday kill her.

Because of your support, over 1,200 patients like Telitha receive the primary and specialty care they need at CHCC. Not having insurance isn’t a barrier to seeing a doctor or picking up prescriptions - and there’s no bill, either.

Telitha was nervous but excited the day she got her CPAP machine. She says the whole experience has filled her with so much hope. “It’s not usual that you can walk in somewhere with nothing and walk away with everything.”
